A new year a new dawn…
As we welcome the dawn of this New Year, I was reflecting on the words of Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
The past couple of years have been a journey through both deserts and oasis in my life. There were moments of profound challenge where I felt lost, akin to wandering in the wilderness. Yet, in those times, I've learned that the path wasn't without purpose. It was in those deserts that I found my strength, my faith, and a deeper reliance on God's promises. As I look forward, I'm excited for this 'new thing' God is doing in my life. I am committing to a year of spiritual growth, of seeking out the rivers in my deserts, and of extending grace to others as I've been graced.
This New Year, let us embrace the promise of new beginnings. Just as God promises to make a way where there seems to be none, let us trust in His guidance for our lives. May we see each day as an opportunity to grow, to love more deeply, to forgive more readily, and to live with purpose and joy. As we continue to walk in faith, and not by sight, we understand that each step we choose to take is part of a divine journey crafted for us. Let the light of this new year illuminate our paths, and may our hearts be open to the wonders and blessings that await. And may we find courage in the days when the darkness seems to overshadow the light, knowing that when the night is at its darkest, the dawn is ever yet closer.
Let this be a year where we not only seek our own paths but also help to light the way for others. In Lamentations 3:22-23 we read, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness," let's spread kindness and grace, knowing that each day brings fresh mercy, and a renewed opportunity to make a difference.
Happy New Year to all! May this year be filled with a renewed peace of understanding, a pure love without any judgement, and being present to experience the joy of discovery in every moment.
